Section 329 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)
329 - Section 329 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) deals with criminal trespass and house-trespass:
Criminal trespass
When someone enters or remains on another person's property with the intent to commit an offense, intimidate, insult, or annoy the owner
House-trespass
When someone commits criminal trespass in a building, tent, vessel, or place of worship used as a dwelling or for the custody of property
Punishment
The punishment for criminal trespass is up to three months in prison, a fine of up to five thousand rupees, or both
Replacing old IPC sections
BNS Section 329 replaced Sections 441, 442, 447, and 448 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)
